The New Studio is open! | Columbus Ohio Maternity, Newborn, Family Portrait Photographer

The Commercial Studio is open!

As of February 1st 2021 the new commercial studio is open! I’ve received so many compliments and the families that have been photographed in the new space just love it! I’ve been asked what made you finally get a studio?

Well, I’ve been wanting the perfect commercial studio for a while, and it just took time to find the perfect space to continue to serve the families of Columbus Ohio. I had a vision of what I wanted it to look like, the aesthetic appearance, and ceiling height and location were all important to me! 7 years ago I started photographing all of my amazing clients in my home studio. I started in our bonus room, and then moved to the first floor room. It was a tight space, but I made it work. Over time I extended the home studio to be double the size and it worked great, clients loved it! But, with the ongoing pandemic, I especially wanted a space that was separate from my home for clients to come to for so many reasons, and I wanted to make sure they felt they were also offered the best opportunity for their sessions!

But, it was time!! It was time for more space, it was time to have more opportunities to offer more variety in my sessions, it was time to better the experience and professionalism I offer my clients! After all, this isn’t just about the photos I take and you receive; this is about what I offer all of you and the one of a kind experience you receive!

I know driving time is a huge consideration to families when booking a photographer, especially a newborn photographer. I am conveniently located off route 70, and minutes form 270. The commercial studio is located in front of the Taylor square shopping center. This gives families with younger siblings options for their newborn sessions if they don’t want to stay at the studio. Retail, lots of food options, and even Blacklick Woods metro park is 5 minutes away!

Having 1300 sq ft creates a more comfortable environment for my families. This gives me the ability to work quicker and more efficiently during your session! Having everything set up and ready to go is essential for all sessions! My goal is to have every family in and out within 2 hours or less for newborn sessions, and an hour for milestones. As new parents, with a newborn baby, your time is important to me! The studio is full of the best props and accessories available on the market, and a collection of designer clothing for moms and children!

I welcome you to schedule a tour and come see the studio in person! I would love to meet you, go over specific details for your session, and share the extensive collection of props and wardrobe that will make your custom portrait session one of a kind!!

Thanks to all my amazing clients for the continued love and support the past 7 years. I wouldn’t be where I am today without you!

A winter-snowy maternity session in Columbus Ohio

Maternity Photography Columbus Ohio

Two weekends ago was the most perfect weather for this wintery-snowy maternity session in Columbus Ohio. When this mama first contacted me months ago about planning, she said she hoped it would snow for her session!! Well, guess what? Her wish came true. The first big snowfall of the season just so happened to be the weekend we were scheduled to do her session!

It was extremely cold, but this couple did amazing. Elisa looked beautiful in the gown she chose! She braved the cold and we we were able to capture some amazing memories for them!! I can’t wait to meet baby boy SOON!! Thanks again for choosing me to capturing these precious memories for you.

Displaying your professional images in your home | How to make a beautiful gallery wall

Columbus Ohio Photographer

I was recently contacted by Megan of Monkey Bar Storage in Columbus, OH. She reached out to collaborate with me on what it takes to design a gallery wall in your home to display your beautiful images! As a photographer who specializes in custom wall art and designing wall galleries for my clients, I was excited to help out! Megan wrote this blog post and included some helpful tips, as well as included images from my portfolio to design the walls. This is a custom feature I offer my clients from every session. I hope you enjoy the post!

Organizing Your Professional Gallery Wall

I often find myself wanting to reorganize my home without having the time and resources to give it that total makeover I’m hoping for. Yet, there are several different things I can change without spending a fortune and it eating up all my spare time. I have found that really focusing on my living room has given my home a fresher feel and helps any guests feel more welcome. Here are a few tips to beautify your living room by simply organizing the pictures on the wall.

Select Coordinating Frames

Make sure that the frames you choose for your gallery wall coordinate with the furniture and wall decor to keep the cohesive feel in your living room.  Don’t be afraid to use different sizes, colors, and shapes as long as they all work together without clashing. You can also find artwork that fits with the style of your home to incorporate with your gallery wall.

Map It Out

Before you start hanging your pictures and artwork, be sure to layout each frame on the ground how you want it to look on your wall. Space them out exactly how you are thinking so you can take the measurements. You can also take string or tape to map out the bottom and top of the wall so you know how high up you’ll want your pictures to hang. Don’t forget to take note in the layout where sofas or shelving units may be so you don’t run into issues when you start hanging.

Take the Measurements

It can be tricky to remember which measurements go with each frame and where on the wall you want to place them. You can bypass this by using sticky notes or easy peel tape. For each picture, measure how far apart the d-rings on the back of the frame are to make it easier when hanging. You will also need to measure how far apart each frame is from the next. This will include how far up the bottom pictures will be from the base of your wall.

Find Wall Hangers

Depending on what kind of wall and paint you have in your living room, you will need to purchase different kinds of wall hangers. If you have heavier pictures make sure you have a wall mount you won’t have to worry about staying up. Here are a few ideas of wall hangers you can use for your pictures.

●     Command strips

●     Monkey hooks

●     Wire toggle hooks

●     Crimp nail hooks

●     One step hangers

Hang Your Pictures

Using the measurements, you’ve already taken, start hanging your pictures! Be sure to double check measurements as you go along to make sure you don’t have to put more holes in your wall than necessary. Take your time and make sure you know how your wall hangers go into your wall properly. It can be incredibly frustrating if you have to uninstall and install hangers over and over again. It is also helpful to have a level handy to help make sure your pictures aren’t slanted to give your gallery wall a professional look.

Step Back and Admire

Organizing your gallery wall can take a while, so make sure you take a step back to admire your handiwork! If you have pictures from Jacqueline Marie Photography included in your gallery will be sure to send her a picture of your wall as well. Professional pictures make every gallery wall come alive and Jacqueline would love to admire your wall with you.

Organizing the pictures on your wall is the first giant step to beautifying your living area. Finding 5 or 10 minutes here or there will help you organize the rest of the room. What other ideas do you have to beautify your living room?

Sunset Maternity Photography Session in Columbus Ohio | Waiting on Baby Covelli

Columbus Ohio Maternity and Pregnancy Photographer

This cloudy day has me thinking back to this gorgeous maternity session that took place the beginning of August! The evening was perfect with warm weather and amazing sunset lighting! Highbanks Metro Park in Lewis Center, Ohio was the most perfect location for this session to take place!

I first met Sarah and Albert for their gender reveal party back in April. It was then we found out they were expecting a little boy. It was so wonderful to capture these memories with one of my favorite maternity sessions ever.

Their fur baby, Monte, was also a part of the session. We captured many beautiful memories for this family. My absolute favorite images are down in the water. The sun was setting at the right time and make the lighting perfect! Sarah is beautiful and made my job easy!

Thank you again Covelli family for choosing me to capture these memories for your family! Baby Theo has already arrived and I can’t wait to blog about that session soon!
